BASIC FUNCTION:

The Service Resident will work under the direction of a Consultant to provide the highest possible standard of patient care according to his/her clinical privileges and available resources in treating and caring for the assigned patients.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Ensures that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at
2. Participates in emergency diagnostic procedures during and after working hours, Participates in on-call duties as required.
3. Participates in his/her own Performance Review and actively participates in own professional development
4. Carries out inpatient and/or outpatient duties as assigned by the Section Head/Department Chair, in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges
5. Refers patients to appropriate specialized clinicians when there is a need for services beyond the training and privileges of the individual.
6. Participates in ongoing educational programs to ensure maintenance and improvement of his/her clinical capabilities.
7. Abides by the Medical staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, those specific to the department/division and all hospital policies and procedures.
8. Works cooperatively and collaboratively with members of other professions and disciplines, ensuring the provision of a progressive learning environment for all staff.
9. Where applicable, will monitor patient waiting times ensuring that any delays or shortfalls in service are promptly reported to the Chairman of the Department and will assist in taking remedial action.
10. Serves on any Hospital committees as requested by the Head of Section/Department Chairman.
11. Participates in education, training and development for self and supports others as applicable.
12. Follows all hospital-related policies and procedures.
13. Participates in emergency and disaster procedures.

• Performs other duties within the realm of his/her knowledge and ability as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

1. Bachelor Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS)
2. Registered with the Saudi Council for Health Specialties as Service Resident not Trainee Resident طبيب مقيم وليس طبيب متدرب
